The pretty market town of Pickering is a short and enjoyable 20 minute walk away from Railway Cottage, either along a quiet minor road, or via footpaths through Newbridge woodlands and Pickering castle.

Within short walking distance, Pickering trout lake provides hours of fun for younger generation catching their first fish & practice
for more experienced fisherman.
A short 15 min. walk. With magnificent steam engines & beautiful rural stations, a visit to North Yorkshire Moors Railway is like
taking a step back in time.
Five minutes drive away is the Eden Camp history museum giving a unique experience of World War 2.
Surrounding the cottage is the North York Moors National Park where you'll enjoy stunning heather, towering sea-cliffs, sandy beaches,
ancient woodland & wildlife.
Ten minutes drive. The zoo is home to a 1,000 animals. As well as white knuckle thrillers, there are wonderful rides &
attractions for youngsters to enjoy.
Within ten minutes drive you'll find fantastic mountain bike trails, picnics, great forest walks and amazing adventure playgrounds!
Nestled in the Dalby Forest, Go Ape! is an award-winning high wire forest adventure course of rope bridges, tarzan swings and zip
slides... all set high up in the trees
In the woods adjacent to the cottage you will find mountain bike trails which include a jump park, pump track and a XC bike trail
with blue red and black sections
